Th first of the three photo galleries features life aboard barges on the Mississippi River. Most images reflect the beauty of the Mississippi River and the hardiness of the people who crew its working boats. Other photos focus on the gigantic scale of river shipping operations.
The project was sponsored by the Public Policy Research Center, the Missouri Arts Council (a state agency) and the National Endowment for the Arts. To get your river views, follow this link.

Finally, a third source for towboat videos and photos is this tugboat captain’s own website: Towboat photography by CR Neale.
You may also enjoy a Neale video called ‘Building Tow’ a day in the pilothouse, in time-lapse photography, showing the captain at the sticks, putting three loads of sand in the tow of the M/V Darrell L. on the Ohio River. To see this short video, go direct to this link.
